SR
A steradian (SR) is a measure of the angular area subtended by a two dimensional surface about the origin in three dimensional space.
The name is derived from the Greek stereos for ‘solid’ and the Latin radius for ‘ray, beam’.
This work has recorded a space by means of a video processed by 3D tracking software to create an imperfect ‘steradian’, the apex of which is at the position of the smartphone camera used to record the initial video. Distracted by the handheld movement and moving objects of the inner city scene, the software struggles to process accurately. By including the flaws, and highlighting points of overexposed light from the night time footage, an alternative level of the space hopes to be revealed.
